There is a conflicting info on the HP page for this M2N68-LA (Narra6) motherboard that says max ram for this motherboard is 4GB ddr3 240 chip set ram but then I saw someone on sevenforums.com says that 64-bit OS are able to support up to 8GB max ram. I just want to upgrade my ram from 1GB to 8GB(2x4GB).but my current OS is Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit but 64-bit capable base on Performance Information and Tools. So do I need to upgrade my OS to 64-bit then only install 8GB of ram or should I just install 4GB of ram on my current 32-bit OS or what??Please help. I know I am replying to older thread but I mean my answer can help users which are interested in this. I have motherboard labeled as M2N68-LA (REV: 6.02) which have two DDR3 RAM slots.
Originally I had one 4 GB DDR3 RAM memory installed. I bought a 2x4 GB DDR3 1333MHz CL9 1.5V (dual channel,single rank) RAM and computer works fine with 8GB of RAM. When I open Task manager I can see that I have 8GB RAM installed, HWInfo also says that. And when I played GTA V multiplayer last time my system totally used around 6,5 GB of RAM But when I entered BIOS, It look like BIOS does not recognize RAM because it says Installed memory 0 MB. So, 8GB RAM (2x4GB) work in this motherboard, only BIOS does not recognize it (but it does not matter).
